The Pirates of the Caribbean franchise is currently drifting in uncertain waters, caught between the lackluster reception of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, talks of a female-led reboot and the ever-present question of where Depp fits into it all. The aftermath of Depp’s highly publicized legal battle with Amber Heard has seen fans demand for him to be given one more run out as the morally-dubious Jack Sparrow, but so far, that still doesn’t appear to be on the cards. Well, other than in the world of fan trailers, of course – and one such trailer has just bobbed to the surface on YouTube, and it’s brought Jenna Ortega along for the ride.
Pirates of the Caribbean 6 is reportedly in the scripting stages, as is a reboot of the franchise that may or may not end up starring Margot Robbie in the lead role. However, with very little sign of either of those movies coming to fruition in the near future – if at all – one fan-made trailer from KH Studio has taken matters into its own hands and delivered an impressive look at the Depp and Ortega-led swashbuckling adventure that we will never see. Will Johnny Depp Ever Play Jack Sparrow Again in Pirates of the Caribbean 6 ?

Pirates of the Caribbean 6 appears to be leaning towards a reboot with a younger cast, and that once again puts a bit of a dampener on Depp’s possible involvement.
